What can you feed and how can a clam live in captivity?
Me and my friend caught a cuple of mini clams they r very tiny and shes moving them into a glass cage it has sea dirt and sea water but wut and how will we feed them and how will we get more saltwater and the sand
I really want them 2 live but i cant get a saltwater tank you see we got them for my cuz and shes 11 and we got them in a bucket with xtra water and sand and we want them 2 live foor her.
As you already know, clams are saltwater critters. Since you, or your cuz, don't have the ability to run a saltwater tank, then your clams WILL die. It is not a question of 'if' they will live, but how long until they die.
The best thing you can do at this time is either return the clam to the location you found them, or, just wait and put the clam under your bed. Shut the door to your room. Don't let it have any water or light. Turn the heat up in your room to about 80-85 degrees. Go away for a few days and when you come back, hold your breath when you open your bedroom door. Turn on the light in your room and then breath REAL deep through your nose...............
